also its hard to believe because I had my alternator checked in september and it was fine, plus they were new batteries put in in september.

While you may have had your alt checked in september the internal voltage regulator can go out at any time. If you alternator has gone out then your batteries are not getting charged, and will over time loose all ability to self regenerate. You may try having the alternator checked again, and also have your batts seperatley load tested, but my guess is that the alt. is gone.
