02 ashtray insert

I'm new to the forum and loving the fact it exists. I bought my '02 Limited new and it is starting to show its age, so time to upgrade and replace some things. Most of the items I need are pretty easy to find and the forum has helped my searching in a big way.

There is one thing that I cannot find - the ashtray insert in the dash cup holder. Some crackhead broke into the truck a few years ago and took the metal ashtray full of change so now the change falls out and jams the tray. I cannot find this anywhere, even at my local dealer. Any advice on where to find this thing, or does anyone know the part number? I only need the metal tray...

I appreciate any leads you guys can send my way.

Boneyard.

They still sell entire ashtray/cupholders new on E-bay.

yeah, I thought that might be the answer. Didn't want to buy the whole tray, but may need to. I haven't checked into the local yards yet, but will try that next. Is the tray the same on the 250's for the same years? Might make looking around the yard a bit easier if this is the case

Yes, the ashtray is the same between 2000-2005 Excursions, f250, 350,450,550, and 650's. There's gotta be one in a boneyard near you! BTW, the insert is plastic.

got it, thanks for the help. It's been so long since it was taken, I couldn't remember if it was plastic or metal.

I need one of these too. Anyone ever get a part number? Surely by now you can buy just the insert.
