Bed not lined up?

the bed on my 78 f250 isnt lined up, so I loosened up the 8 bolts today and tried to move it. I can pick it up so i know everything loose, but it wont slide. Im assuming theres room for the bolts to move in the holes if its not lined up in the first place. Am i wrong? any ideas why the bed isnt moving?

I'm not familiar with taking the bed of these trucks off, but could you have some build up on the frame not allowing it to slide? also what's not lined up?

well there shouldnt be build up cuz once loose i can pick the bed up off the frame at alll the mounts. And its further over to the driver side than the passenger side (quite noticably)

When I've moved mine all I gota do is remove the 8 bolts and tug away. There should definately be room to move. I've gota give it a good yank to move it a couple inches

Actually, the bed doesn't move on the frame. The eight holes in the frame are round, not slotted, so there isn't any adjustment to speak of.

Here is a picture of my frame, while not too detailed, you can see that the holes are round.

There should be a small stack of shims on one or both of the front corners. The shims have a dimpled center that fits tightly on the bolt and centers up on the hole when you lower the bed to the frame. If these washer are still present, they will cause the bolt to center in the hole. You need to remove these and use regular washers. This should give you a little adjustment. If you need more than this you need to do some measuring and find out what is causing the misalignment.
