I was in Reno all day today it was beautiful 57 degrees clear blue skies. Just a lovely day. But every day I get out of Fallon has been beautiful. We will be home this weekend so I'm sure the weather in Fallon will suck. It has every time we stay here. Went for a motorcycle ride yesterday. I just couldn't stand not riding any longer.

Good morning Steve, & everyone.
Well I again hit the nail on the head. cloudy, damp, & depressing in Fallon. I'm one of those people that even doctors have told me I need to live in a place that has a fair amount of sunshine. That this kind of weather is not good for me. (Over two months of cloudy, damp, depressing weather) Nevada as a rule has a lot of sunshine even in the winter. We can never remember living any place in this State in the last 50+ years that has been like Fallon this year. You can travel 60 miles in any direction & get to where at least the sun peeks out for awhile.
We are pulling out of here in three weeks & heading to Lovelock for the rest of the school year. Then we will decide where we will go from there. One thing we know is we won't ever live in Fallon again.
So after Feb 27 you guys don't have to listen to me complain about weather or Fallon.
Les told me he would have my tranny done on the 26th of Feb. So I will get to run it with our trailer behind. So I can see how it does & if there might be any issues I can get them fixed before we head South in June. I am excited about getting this done. I have wanted to do this for 3 years now. Finally it is going to happen. The parts are on way to me.

We have had a little snow here for a number of days.
This morning I slept in and woke up to a serious looking snowfall.
It had been warmer yesterday, so the asphalt was warmed up from the sun so it took a while before it started to stick on the streets. It is still a bit too warm so a lot of it melts as it lands but now it looks like it is beginning to accumulate.
In any case, it's coming down like crazy. (Sat. 1:45 pm)
Bruce, to live in Lake Tahoe you have to like this weather or why would any sane person live there? I lived one winter in South Shore (at the Y) in 1969 & that was enough for me. There was at least 3ft of snow all winter at Stateline & The Y. The snow plows had the center of the highway stacked with over 6 feet of snow. You couldn't see from one side to the other. & it wasn't just a few days either. That was when Carroll Shellby owned the Ford dealership by the high school (South Lake Tahoe High). I had a friend that worked there & I remember a few test rides in Shellby GT 500 & 350s. In those days the road to Meyers was a narrow two lane road. Those Shellby's were pretty fun.

Craig, I live near Zephyr Cove. That is known locally as the "banana belt." If they have three feet of snow at the "Y" we may have a foot. You probably remember if they have three feet at the Y then in Meyers they most likely had five feet. Also the north shore usually has two to three times as much snow as I have at my house.
When the GT 500 came out, (I was in the army,) we made fun of them. Lot's of hp but couldn't get it to the ground. All they did was smoke their undersized tires. Something like 60/40 weight distribution. (Now, Barrett Jackson sells those things for half a mil.) I had an Austin Healey that I had put a 351C in and it would leave all the muscle cars and pony cars in the dust.

Bruce, yea I bet a Healey with a 351C would be fast. Did you go to Whitell High School in Tahoe? I ran into a guy last year in Fallon that graduated from Whitell the same year I graduated Mineral County. I spent the summer of 1966 at Zepher Cove. Great summer hang out as a teen. Use to walk to Round Hill & race my slot car on the track they had there. I remember watching a Cobra loss it on the curve at the top of the hill coming down into Zepher Coce from Stateline. The guy gathered it up but not before doing a few 360s. That was only two lanes.
The only time I ever got to experience a GT 500 or 350 was at the lake. But by far the fastest straight line factory car I ever experienced was a a 1969 Road Runner with a 426 Hemi, 4speed. That car was a triple black car & I bet today would be worth a bunch.
