Have any of you tried installing an air conditioning system in a non A/C equipt vehicle?
Just curious how difficult it would be. I would imagine you would need the A/C pump, 3 groove crank pully, condensor, and some plumbing, from a similar truck. What about the controlls for the interior, or the heating/cooling duct work? I'm looking into it for my 1980 F-150 4x4 400M, if anyone has info, it would be greatly appreciated!
I think that J.C. Whitney has a/c kits for your truck that run R-134. The cost is about $1.000.00 if I remember right. It is sometimes more expensive to rehab old a/c stuff from junkyards and they were built to run R-12 which is quite expensive now. Otherwise Vintage Air can supply a unit for the truck.
