Can 2003 adjustable pedals be changed?

2003 f-250 7.3 deisel with adjustable pedal. Ford shop says it is bad with a dead spot so it jerks if you don't put your foot in it or have load. Over $800 for part not including labor. Can it be replaced with fixed pedal or not?

Dunno if they will interchange, but $800 is a little insane for a stupid pedal that is not used all that often.
Hate to be smart here, but I say set it and forget it.

engine jerks if it's not under load no matter where pedal is set. dead spot so cuts out. fixed pedal is alot cheaper.

you should be able to replace with a fixed pedal, the mounting is the same to the firewall.

Ah, sorry, I thought the pedal was jerking when you went to adjust it unless the pedal loaded. That is indeed a problem. Yes, you should be able to replace it with the manual, but I am not 100% on that.
