I'm looking at replacement time for my injectors. I have 210k on originals and thinking of changing them out. I had thought about going to single shots but don't want to have to reprogram for them. Are there split shots that will improve both hp & mpg? Also after doing the fuel mods. does a person still need to use the LL injector in #8 hole?
So TS won't re-burn your chip?? Singles are WAAAAY better than splits, hands down. It's worth the effort man. Check out this price on stage 1s: Riffraff Diesel: Stage 1 Single Shot Injectors
They probabily would but I like the idea of being able to take my chip out if I need to and still run on the stock program. I haven't given-up on the idea of putting singles in but would just like to hear some input from others. Currenty I have enough hp for what I do, more is aways welcome, but if I had to pick, I would say better mpg if it doesn't sacrifice the hp that I have now.
I see some places selling stage1 split shot injectors and making hp and mpg increase claims. Now I wonder how you can get an increase in both, usually more hp = more fuel used but I figure it must be because of better spray pattern or increase in pressure/ atomization. Anyone using stage1 splits? Is there any difference?
I agree, the chip really makes a big difference and I wouldn't give it up. If I put single shots in and get my chip reprogrammed to run them, then if I sell my truck my chip would have to go with it. If I stay with splits, I can pull it and the truck would still run.
I thought that when I first put my chip in until I started figuring it using actual mile/gals used and found the lie-o-meter, aka. trip computer, was doing just that. It's pretty accurate on the stock tune but kick the chip in and it starts lying to you. Looks real good but not so good.

If you plan on selling your truck why would even consider different injectors? If that is how you feel then I would recommend stock injectors. However, I have stage 1 injectors and I am very happy with them. Izzy posted a link to Clay's sticks.. Those are built by Ryan Casserly at Full Force Diesel. I had the pleasure of meeting him at Bean's in december and he is just a really great guy. Can't say enough about him and Clay. Give Clay a call and he will take care of you. No matter what you plan on doing.
I'm just thinking, my truck is 8yrs old with 210k on original sticks. If I put new ones in, maybe in 5yrs I might sell it a get me an 03 with 7.3 , but really is anybody running the stage 1 splits? If so how do they perform?

And just being mostly light on the go peddle i have made a best of 19 city. Have not done Highway in Forever so dont know what im at. But Before ULSD I made 23.97MPG hand calculated and that was with Splits and tuning. Have not even come close to that on ULSD.
