I did numerous searches, got nowhere. I chased all the links people have put on here, got nothing. can someone please decode this or give me a link to one that works for pre-'82.
From FTE's website (at top of page under Articles/Specs):
Your VIN number: F25YKV24089
Your Model Year is August 1974.
Truck Series: F250 2 Wheel Drive
Engine: V8 - 360cid, 2BBL carb
Assembly on: Kansas City, MO
The VIN won't tell you the axle ratio.
On the drivers door is a metal plate (warranty plate) just below the lock. This will have an axle code on it along with the VIN number. That will give you the original axle information including ratio.
Problem, on trucks this old the door or axle (or both) could have been swaped out by a previous owner.
If you post the info on the tag I can decode it for you. It will tell you the original paint, interior, axle, etc.
