I am getting ready to replace the factory tires on my 04 SCREW FX4. It has 18 inch rims and I am looking for a solid tire that will wear well. I do haul loads on occasion in the summer and I also go off road in a few pastures to hunt but the majority of my driving is a 65 mile round trip daily drive to work.
Thanks for any input on the tires you have used on your truck.
I have a 05 SCREW Lariat 4x4 with Toyo Open Country M/Ts. My application is more for just road and mud don't do a whole lot of hauling. However I do make a weekly trip from Louisville, KY to Vandalia, IL a 236 mile trip on way along with a daily commute of around 60 miles round trip. They Toyo Open Country's have worn great are relatively quite for what they are and our good in the mud. My tire size is 38X15.5R18 but my truck sits on over 9inches of lift to make them fit. Toyo does offer 33X12.5R18 and 35X12.5R18 also.
I have a set of Firestone Destination AT's on my '06. I had them put on this summer and I couldn't be happier with them. I tow a boat over the summer as well as took the truck off road a few times and they have been excellent. So far this winter they have been awesome as well. I have no complaints!
Consumer Report and Tire Rack both rate General Grabber HTS tires at the top of their ratings for an all-season truck tire. Check out Tire Rack's web site. it's very informative.
I have nitto mud grapplers on my truck, they wear nicely and are good for all applications.. one problem you might have is that they tend to hum on the high way, to me its a small sacrifice for a good tire..
anyone try the goodyear silent armor's? are you happy with them?
I have 275/60R20 Silent Armors. They ride good, have good traction in wet and snow/ice. mostly use on the road. Not sure about wear yet. Seem to be doing well.
