Sunday afternoon I was following some friends out of a subdivision, I stopped at the stop sign looked both ways and was clear to take a right. Out of no where a young lady in a F250 was speeding and hit my truck, I went spinning twice, I dont even remember that accident I was hit so hard. The fire deapartment said I was lucky to be in a truck or I would not be typing this out. Her truck had a small dent on the bumper and my truck was totalled. I only got some bruises and my body aches bad, it looks like so far Im goin to get the money back so I can buy another truck, I hope to be riding in a similar F150 soon because I really loved that truck and it saved my life.
Thanks , thats what I joked about when I was in the hospital I kept thinking "built ford tough". I was pretty upset when I heard the husband say to his wife, I knew i should've let you take the car instead of the truck cause I was affraid something like this would happpen, then she starts complaing about her train horns that she just installed. Im happy though that there were alot of witnesses favoring me and one lady saw everything. I was so sad seeing my truck loosing its fluids and bent up, it feels like I lost a friend .
I'm sorry man..Yes, you lost a friend. But thankfully you can buy another. These old' Fords are like a real loyal mule.. eventually, you end up loving the darn things.
TexasGuy001,you may want to do a search on headers on the 300.They have some pretty nasty problems with them, blocking access to your starter and never getting them to seal, are 2 that come to mind.
I recommend keeping the factory split manifold on the 4.9/300. For those that have the older ones with the single manifold, they should consider upgrading to this.
I'm glad you're okay man.. I'm so sorry. Owch man.. I feel bad for you.
The old Ford died vallently. It died rotecting you from a truck 3x it's size.
Everyone including the doctor told me how luck I am to own a truck, because if it was a smaller vehicle it would have been much worst than it was. It protected me very well, even though my head and the rest of my lfet body slammed into the door, im very thankful for the guy that pulled me out of my truck. I really dont remember the accident, I just know what happened from the lady that was behind me.
It makes me sad waking up each day and my truck isnt out there. All I have left is the keys to the truck, which I will keep for the rest of my life for memory.
Witnesses said she was speeding when she hit me and that she never braked when she saw me, she pretty much plowed through me.
Josh, so sorry to see your truck in that condition, it was just a few days ago that I posted to welcome you to FTE ..
brings back memories of my miata, lost to (and I'm not being sexist) a woman driving an Escalde .. she couldn't keep it in her lane and when I swerved to avoid her, lost it on the wet pavement ..
were there any tickets issued? witness are good, but the cop that responded to my accident actually gave me two tickets (for passing on the right and bad tires) even though a couple of nice folks pointed the finger at her (she had what I think were county plates).. both tickets were dismissed in court, but that basically put me at fault and when it came to getting any reimbursement for the beloved car I lost I was SOL ..
hope it ends better for you .. and we'll see you soon here on FTE with your new ride ..
