I always have one with a few gallons in it for reserve, then the other one as my main. Every once in awhile I flip flop. Seems to keep the pumps in working order.

I know with my 87 with a 4.9L and C6 the towing package included a heavy duty radiator that was literally twice the size of my mothers 85 with same motor for additional cooling capacity

Welcome to the forums. I will say that if your truck is 2wd, just put some 31 10.50s on it and call it a day. I did the whole 2wd lift thing and took it all off. I won't ever do it again.

Trust me it adversely affects performance, handling, braking, etc. If your truck is your daily driver definitly don't lift the 2wd.

Back when I had duel tanks. I filled both, started in the front, got down close to E, then switched to the rear. I've heard that running them to low can shorten fuel pump life. But the nice thing was, if I did get to the point were I ran out when i was on the rear tank. I could always go back to the front tank and use the last couple gallons in there to get to a fill station.

Well here are the springs from the trucks.

The tow package one actually has more leafs.

what is weird though is that they both have the same GAWR for the rear axle. But what's really weird, is that the tow package truck has a higher GAWR for the front axle. Anyone know why this would be?

Truck really is clean man. For $1,500 it looks like you got a steal. That dash piece should be easy to find at a junkyard or pick and pull if you got some nearby. If all else fails LMC has them I'm sure.

A good 4'' suspension lift will allow you to rnu 33's, but 32's would fit better and look just as good. I like your ideas for the truck. For some reason I like seeing lifted 2wd trucks. I guess because it's different. My 2wd has a 3'' lift and 31'' tires. I have the same motor and tranny as you do, too. What gear ratio is in your truck? 3.08? If you plan on going to 33'' tires you'll want a 3.73 ger set to give you the power back and fuel mileage.

What type of exhaust work does it have? Do you like the sound?

That's weird, my truck has more springs too but it doesn't seem to matter. It sits nearly level and it doesn't take much weight in the bed to nose-me-up. Maybe my suspension is setup specifically for the lighter stepside box. Now I'm curious.

Now that's weird. I wonder what the difference is. One thing I really liked about that design with the mostly innactive upper leaf (overload spring) is that it doesn't add any extra height, but when you start getting the truck weighted down, it starts to kick in and prevent sagging.

can you get a pick of your springs bill?

I sure will Bud. You'll see I have about 5 leaves. They're more narrow than the normal leave spring though.

I can't get the pictures right now, but I can later today.
