i thank you very much it was very helpful. the only thing that is not right is the interior it is blue and the seat is cloth with the top of the back changing in pattern is that some kind of special option? i was also wondering if you could tell me if the rear end is locking or not? i have some of the info and paper work from when it sold new. it sold in madison wisconsin. the truck is in very nice condtions it has no rust except on the radiator suport, it has air conditioning, pockets under the door panels, it is a ranger XLT, most of the truck is oringal. i was wondering if you could tell me what a truck like this might be worth. i am just wondering to see if i paid to much or about right. it also has 77,000 mile total miles. thank you for your info and your time.
The rear isn't locking. If it was it would start with a letter code (like C8). If you look on the door mounted warranty plate the body code will give you the interior trim code (first two characters). Post those and I can decode them, that's one of the codes I wasn't certain of.
As far as what it's worth, I'm not the one to ask. I tend to overpay for something if I want it bad enough, but it sounds like a really nice truck.
If you have any questions ask away, someone here will have the answer. There is an incredible amount of knowledge on this forum and really nice people (plus a few old grouches).
Good luck and enjoy.
one question i have is how hard would it be to get and install a locking differentail? it is ok to over pay. i do the same thing most of the time. if you know anyone that might have some kind of guess to what it might be worth. i am just wondering it does not have to be any kind of book value just somethng like what others might think it could be worth.
again thank you
It would probably by cheaper and easier to find a complete rear with a locking differential and install it.
I'm not a Dana expert so I can't say what's involved. I do know on some rears, the lockers take a different spool, etc. so it could get pricey.
