A manual setup would enable you to do but the strength required to bend 3" would be a lot! i am just going to weld in 12.25-22.5 degree elbows and keep it simple! If it breathes like straight pipe, well then it is!!!

Wow, I never thought of that!

I was thinking it had to be bent, but I can just weld in elbows.

Thanks!

I still dont know if I will have them both come out the right side infront of the wheel or a stack on either side of the cab, up as high as the front of the flatbed.

Seems like they had 2 different ones a 12 ton and a 20 ton, I think I paid around a hundred bucks for the 20 ton.

We have one of those benders and be warned that they usually will just crumple a steel pipe. You need to use a soft grade steel and also a relatively thick wall. The bender will also collapse the cross section even if the bend is done properly. For slight changes in direction, they work ok, but you will find yourself constantly changing position to gradually curve the length of pipe instead of making one isolated, clean bend.

I have done both methods and prefer the elbow method, but to be completely honest, I was using stainless steel which is a fairly hard material. I used a Tig welder, but a mig works great too. This is thin material relatively speaking. Something to remember is you can cut 90 degree elbows down to 45 or less to get away with using fewer elbows. I usually only need 3 90s for a single pipe that drops out behind the rear wheel.
