WOW! , for your condolences and support. It's been a wild ride since December 12, but each day seems a bit easier, and to quote my sister, "It is what it is" so I guess I don't have much of a choice but to accept the situation and move on from here. Renee' was a super person -- full-time salesperson for her own company, head of her local Girl Scout group, president of her school's PTO... there are a lot of people who are going to miss her, too. We've been looking to hire someone to help us here at PHP, and we're going to do our best to convince my brother-in-law to move out here with the kids. I think Renee' would like that, too, and I sure would like to be closer to my niece and nephew to watch them grow up!

Thank you for understanding that we're in the process of trying ot get caught up! We have four phone lines, and frankly, at least three are going throughout most of the day. You're welcome to try and give us a shout, or if you'd prefer, you can e-mail me your phone number, and we can call you instead -- probably in the evening when the phones slow down -- and spend some time chatting.

We'd be happy to help you when you decide the time is right!

To the OP. I too have read, watched and researched many of the different points of view of most the tuners represented here and feel that PHP is the way to go for me. It seems all the tuners have outstanding customer service, and wonderful individuals behind the different brands; there have been plenty of posts stating as much, so that is a wash for me. From the reports from the various loyal customers of the major tuners it seems PHP can and has delivered what I am looking for; reliable predictable power for daily driving, and consistent power and EGT control while hauling or towing. To be fair, if I wanted a little more sizzle and a little less steak (not meant derogatory), I might go with DP, as they seem to give the guys with the heavy right feet what they want when they “blip” the skinny pedal. For my personal driving needs and truck use (isn’t that what it comes down to anyway) I need to haul a 3500 pound truck camper and tow a 5K pound Scout on a 2K pound trailer, and sometimes I need to do both simultaneously.

Something else to consider is where are you going to end with your mods? If you will stay basically stock and only add a high flow intake and exhaust, IMO adding anything beyond an 80-100 hp tune really has diminishing returns because the rest of the engine has not been modded to keep pace for the fuel/oil flow demands. I think beyond 80-100 hp tuner levels in a basically stock truck is just “neat to have” as far as utility goes. Again, “neat to have” is not bad; just don’t assume you are suddenly running around with a true 120-140 extra HP under your foot in an otherwise stock truck just because the dash **** “says so.”
We've always said that there is a tuner for every customer -- each custom tuner has his own style and may be a better "fit" for a customer than another company. If you think we can help you, we'd love to work with you!

This is a very odd comment, but im sure all trucks are different. My brother and I both have the F6 from DP tuner and both our trucks on 80e, dragrace or tollbooth acceleration, the truck hardly smokes at all.
My brothers truck is stock except for hpx and oba, and my truck is a few more little mods. Mytruck runs close to 30psi, but the other truck is a lot less throughout the rpm range.
I do feel the truck could be a lot quieter, and hopefully with the regulated return it will quiet some. I can hardly have a conversation on myphone its so loud. even stock tune before the chip it was loud though.

Ditto, that is NOT normal. On 80E mine will throw out a little puff, but that is it. Even if I am econo driving and then hammer it the smoke clears up almost instantly.
His sig says he is running "DIY Intake" I assume this is the 6637. Poor clean out is a sign of not enough air in or not enough used air out. I don't rememember what his exhaust system was.
My truck was loud w/o the chip and it is noticably louder now as well. I will be doing either the Frx or the RR, but I am still undecided. (not sure if the RR is worth it)
PHP Chips have auto backdown? Somebody said they would not let you drive crazy right away. That would be a nice feature. Can you change the high EGT backdown?
2002 F-250 DIY Intake, Stait Piped Exhaust. BTS Valve body, 230cc single shots Tubonetics BB, PHP tunes on order , and overboost Annihilator from ITP, Forged Rods.
I see he is running a "stait" pipe. Not sure if this straight pipe is the stock sytem with stock down pipe or if he is running an aftermarket system. I would guess the stock dp with big sticks and turbo would be the limiting factor in that combination if he didn't upgrade the exhaust.
