Annoyingly both heads have cracked irreparably on my '91 f150 Auto 351W.
I am not really keen on just putting a new top end on an engine with a unknown bottom end so, I am in the market for a new engine.
I would like an engine that will just bolt up to my tranny, not sure if that means i am stuck with a 351W or if i can go bigger... anyone?
So at the moment i am thinking of either
a 2nd hand engine
a reconditioned engine
a crate engine.
If anyone can give me outlines for what each options would probably cost me or any source/recommendations for engines/crate engines that would be great.
CHeers guys
Probably an awesome engine BUT your truck is speed density it will have big issues trying to run this engine if it even will plus its carburated !Why not check your local Ford dealer for a ford reman {comes with factory warranty} they cost about $2300 over here! Or if you have junk yards look around for at least a 94 and up modek they are factory roller cam engines! With your tranny you are limited to the 302-351 engines because of the bolt pattern change the tranny and you could step up to the 460 but you would be needing a donor truck to get alot of the matching parts! You could step up to a MAF {mass air flow} system that will let you run a more performance engine but you are looking at spending $1500 for a complete kit so this makes it pricey!
