Hello, I have a 77 F100 Custom. The guy I bought it from at some point installed an aftermarket steering wheel. It looks sleek, however it is totally non-functional. It does not reset the signal lights, nor can I used the horn. Every decent looking steering wheel I find at junkyards is missing the horn. I'm not exactly fond of the idea of paying $300+ to order a steering wheel from LMC. Does anyone know of a particular aftermarket steering wheel that will work in this truck? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I fixed my original steering wheel on my 77 F100. Filled the cracks with fiberglass then sanded the shape back and primed and painted again. Looks real nice, not perfect, but nice. I have an extra steering wheel complete with horn if that interests you, shane@sandenwood.com
The issue you have is with the horn kit not the steering wheel. The horn fit is a universal kit that holds the aftermarket wheel on it makes the horn work and has pins to cancel the turn signals.I 'd look into a new kit there around $25.00 I believe. You will need a wheel puller to get the gear mount off the steering shaft.

...and the nylon cancel lugs might be broken off too! LOL ;)
The horn works by you grounding it at the horn button.
The horn relay under the hood is near the starter relay it has positive battery going to it all the time.
One of the problems with some of the horn pads is the plastic frame that supports it, seems like they
suffered from the same "crumbling plastic problem" some of the speedometer housings did. :/
So he may have chucked the whole cracked-up works? LOL :)
My '75 I bought new, has a good speedometer but the horn pad support ain't. :)
My '75 parts truck, made the same week, but in Kansas instead of Michigan, has a crumbly speedometer
and a sturdy horn pad support. LOL :)
