ok this is the 2nd time i have seen this HD headlight harness. wuts the reason to be switching to the "HD" harness?? just wondering b/c for whatever reason when i turn on my headlights or parking lights my voltage guage drops way down to a point where if i'm running my radio then it will turn off b/c its not getting enough power. come to think of it i'm going to start a new thread on this right now.
I'll second the vote that something more is wrong.
The power distribution starts at the starter solenoid wire at the right fender. There are 3 fusible links made out of dual 12 gauge wire. The fusible links go a short distance into the harness and convert to 6 gauge wire. One goes to the alternator, one goes to the glow plugs and the third goes around the front of the radiator and over to the under hood fuse box. The headlamp feed is on its own 40A fuse from the under hood box. If turning on the headlamps is causing a major problem in everything else, look at one of two places:
#1, check your chassis grounds.
#2, check the fuse links the wire going to the fuse box and where the wire attaches to the fuse box.
