Thanks Brendan. I owe you thanks for giving me the idea. I posted an ad on craigslist just like you suggested and what dya know, it worked! Two people got what they wanted for free.

The bumper wasn't as heavy as I thought it would be.

We didn't swap rear bumpers because his rear was chrome as well. I see aftermarket rear bumpers on CL on occasion, ill just have to wait for the right one to come along.

Matte black is the plan. Some type of textured matte-black "bedliner" type is what I'll use.

Up next, Harley Davidson black headlights...

I like it. Matte black for sure. I like your wheel and tire setup too. Looks pretty mean. Any thoughts on going with the bigger tow mirrors?

Thank you.

Some nice big mirrors are on the list too Jason...I'd like to get rid of those paddles, or as Brendan likes to call them, "hippo ears".

People sure like those telescoping power mirrors, they aren't cheap. Looked into '08's....$1,000....That's 1/13th of what I spent to buy the truck...

I don't mind pulling/pushing my mirrors in and out on my truck. I don't get it. We have '99-'03 genre trucks with the 7.3 PSD and everyone tries to make them look newer trucks that don't have 7.3's.

I'm not trying to make the truck look like a different model year...I'm just trying to make it look the way I want with some of the creature comforts I'd like to have.

The paddles I have now are power, so I have the hookups for it I might as well use it. One thing I wouldn't mind having are the heated mirrors...after the last ice storm we had here, I couldn't use my mirrors for a couple days they were iced over so badly.

2005 Ford F350 Truck Tow Power Heated Smooth Mirror LH : eBay Motors (item 250557461393 end time Feb-01-10 11:54:07 PST)

Not sure if those will work, but it looks like my mirror with a turn signal on it.

I'm with ya on that, I don't mind manually extending the mirrors out when I tow. But I sure would like to have the heat option! Not enough to go through finding new ones and reworking the wiring though.

Too bad you're not closer, i have a grey rear bumper I'd rather have the chrome one. Mine's fairly new.

I'm considering harley lights when i put my truck back together, but I'm not sure how they will look on a red truck with chrome bumper/grille.

Are you planning on getting 05 up harley lights?

Chris it is too bad we're not closer. I'd trade ya no problemo!

The 05 Harley lights, yes that is the plan. I love the blacked out look. If you're worried about blacked out lights on a truck with chrome, you could always go with the white 05 lights. I think those would look best against chrome.

I think your confusing power telescoping mirrors with just power towing mirrors. One has power mirrors that you have to manually pull them out for towing, while the others you have a switch on the armrest and the mirrors extend on their own. It doesn't costs nearly $1K to get power towing mirrors, should cost a few hundred at worst. You don't have the wiring for the power telescoping mirrors installed anyways.

[edit]: I guess I should read all the replies, seems someone already posted a link.

I'm not sure why but your posts seemed a little testy. Why do I feel like I am being lectured? I posted a pic. Its probably a page or two back

My mistake, I was just trying to say I don't want mirrors that 100% manual.

I never said that. I said the 08+ mirrors cost nearly $1000 for the pair, or at least they did the last time I looked. That was probably close to a year ago. Even the nicer older style tow mirrors are $300/pair. The link posted is $160 for only one side.

wherever you want to put it! i just wired in my 05 mirrors last weekend and it wasnt too bad. the heat is sweet too........

IIRC ford just wires the heat to the key on power in trucks that came from the factory with them.......

Looks great Lisa. I hear you on the '08 mirrors, I love them but they are SOOOOOOOO expensive. I just keep looking, someday I'll find a set reasonably priced.
