an oil pump in it that is cooled by the radiator? reason i ask is it is a manual transmission and drive shaft is disconnected. I don't know the reason why it is removed. Only thing i can think is it was disconnected for towing but manuals don't need to be disconnected.
yes it does need to be disconected to be towed.the rear bearing will not get oil if the main shaft isnt turning slinging oil around.i found out the hard way,
Guss is absolutely correct. Unless being towed from the rear, which you hardly see anymore because most everything is underlift, towing from the front will burn a transmission up in a heartbeat.
Don't really know what an engine oil cooler would have to do with this.
What rear bearing won't get oil?? the one behind the yoke? It's a manual 5 speed FYI. Do rear wheel drive manual tranny pick up trucks need the driveshaft disconnected too??
