steering box
i did some searches on converting to "real" power steering for my 76 F250 but i still have some questions.
1) will the 73-? power steering 2wd box bolt right on my frame with no mods? and does it matter if its from a f150, 250 or 350 ?
2) if the 2wd box does mount directly, do i just need an adjustable link going from the pitman arm to the steering knuckle?

what i want to do is put the skyjacker 4" lift kit on the truck as well as 39" tires. but the more i think about it, the pitman arm might be to close or might even hit the leaf pack. im at a lost for words on what to do at this point lol.

There are a few different conversions for this, but without some sort of modification. Without getting into those conversion details, if you just want a bolt on deal and keep the simple drag link push/pull type setup, than what you see in the kit is what you need. You can pretty much piece together what you need at a junkyard and the only thing you really need from the kit is the mounting bracket for the gear box from what I can tell.

thanks for the info Buck. what im really after is something that would take the less fab work to do. i dont mind fabbing my own stuff but i dont really like doing it lol. you know how that goes.

something that slipped my mind while asking questions is that i have a 79 f150 4x4 that is at a friends shop. could the box and related steering stuff be used off that truck as well?
