The dynatrac seems pretty pricey at $600. Anyone know how much the Napa premiums cost? I took my 2000 F250 with 145k miles to get an alignment and was told the ball joints need replacing, but told that I also needed to replace the "slugs" - they might have said "alignment slugs" - anyone know what this would be?

slugs are exactly that their steel slugs they go in the top side of the i beam where the upper ball joint passes through and you turn them to set your camber and castor the come in different off sets your alignment guy will pick them if you even need em normaly you wont need em

I got 181K out of my OEM ball joints. I replaced them with Moogs from Rock Auto. They had the best price and free shipping! I have read more good than bad about them and they are greasable. The upper needed the smallest amount of grinding on the zerk to clear my front axle u-joint, but other than that they were a perfect fit.

Moog gets my vote!
