OK, I've got my 292 freshened with new rod and main bearings, new rings, pushrods, oil pump ready to bolt on, etc. My question is... I get conflicting stories about using a sealant with the gaskets. I'm most concerned about getting the head gasket right, some say spray with a copper gasket sealant others say dry. What is correct for installing the head gaskets, timing cover gasket, oil pan, and intake???? thanks for the help.
I'm old school. Copper Coat on the head gaskets. Non hardening Permatex on the timing cover and oil pan, with a dab of silicon at the corners. Same on the intake.
