Guys, I have a couple of questions concerning
refurbishing chrome pieces. The first is con-
cerning chromed plastic. I have found one place
name "Mr. G's Rechrome. Has anybody used this
service or any other ones? The second question
I have is concerning chrome metal trim. The parts
that I have are straight and in good condition,
but have some pits and scatches. What would you
recommend to improve the appearance of these
pieces.
I've been impressed with the chrome, steel and aluminum modeling paints that car model builders use. Why not try refinishing a boneyard extra piece with some paint from the hobby shop.
mr.g's does an excellent job on plastic chrome plated parts, be prepared though, it is pricey.
on the other chrome pieces, an arbor buffing wheel with some jewlers rouge will polish the most grungy pieces you can throw at it. if you are not satified after a thourogh buffing you will have to replate.
