I am trying to identify a piece of interior chrome trim (plastic chrome piece) for the 70s’ ford trucks. The piece in question sits between the window crank handle and the door panel. In some cases I have seen this labeled as “ESCUTCHEON”. I ordered this piece from LMC and it is a large nylon washer of sorts, which I also have that sits behind the chrome piece.
The following is the order of installation on the door
(((Spring))) ||| (((Panel))) ||| (((Large Nylon Washer))) ||| (((UNKNOWN CHROME))) ||| (((Window Crank Handle)))
I am not the original owner of the truck, so the chrome could be non-standard and been added by a previous owner. However, I remember seeing these same chrome pieces in some trucks.
So…
(1) Can anyone identify what this chrome piece is called (part #?)?
(2) Does anyone know of someone that sells NOS or reproduction versions of this chrome piece for the 70s trucks?
I never saw a chrome ring/escutcheon behind any of the more than 30+ dentsides...73-79 trucks/broncos that I have owned, my guess is either it was added... or... from..or ..for a different year production truck, but who knows it could be something that I am not aware of...good luck
I have seen them , but it was either van shops that put them on from using the Lincon Town Cars pieces or the older Galaxy station wagon pieces . Either way , the previous owner simply wanted to dress out the truck .
Well... not sure why I did not look for a part # before now... In any case I just pulled the piece off and it is marked: C9ZB-6523370-A (not sure if that is an "O" or a zero). So it does look like it was not original... Learn something new everyday.
