My window regulators in my ' 78 F150 are going bad fast, they seem even more sticky in the cold, I've never changed, or worked on one before, is there a way to lubricate them? what is the opinion of the JAP replacements? probably the same as the ones they make foe Mustangs?
I 've seen new ones in Dennis Carpenter, and Auto Krafters, which claim to be original Ford, I'm looking for opinions.....I'm even considering going to power windows via a QUALITY kit, does anyone have any experiance with this ?
THANKS & HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
I've lubed all movin' parts in there and the difference is night and day. Make sure your seals and felt are in good shape, mine would hang up about 3/4 of the way down-here the stripping was torn and would catch the glass at the bottom of the track, anti-rattle strips being shot is what most likely caused this in mine by not holding the glass centered in the door. To lube everything I had to remove it from the door, drill out the rivets and replaced them with locking nuts and bolts, but, this was done with the door in place. Chuck P. 79-150
