OK...hold up. I presume you installed a roller timing set correct? Did you dial your cam in? Did you set it like the pic I have in the engine below with the dowel and key on the crank aligned as such?

I was going to ask that same question! I just put a 460 together and the three keyway set I had had 2 keyways for retard and the one marked "advance" was actually the straight up keyway.

I used an edelbrock cam 2172, and the edelbrock timing gears and chain 7821. I put it in straight up. Lined up the dots on the gears. I just thought I should see mechanical advance sooner than 1800 rpms?
