That's how mine is run, but in worse shape. I hate it. Whenever funds are allocated, I'm going to rip all that junk out of there and put a big single on there.

These are up above the crossmember and exit on both sides it is hard to tell in the pictures but they are above the bottom of thr frame so there is nothing below the frame except where it crosses over below the bellhousing, just bareley and the exits.
I don't know what brand these glass pachs are but they sound good.

In a system like Star posted, I'd merge the 2 pipes just in front of the cross member into 1 3.5 pipe into a muffler than out the side. The combination of the 2 pipes will create a scavenginging effect working off the pulses of the engine exhaust creating more effeciency and desirable sound and performance.

Well I'm learning I don't know what I did to get the same picture three times.
But I did use a digital camera (no film) lol.
This rig has a sweet sound louder than my 86 with a turbo but the rumble sounds better.
You could smoke the hippies on both sides.lol

That is what i have modified my thinking to. I found that lordco stocks all diameters of pipe and lengths, typically in 7.5 or 10 foot lengths. I am going to get the 3.5 in the 7.5 foot length and then make the two into one custom Y right at the back of the oil pan, then i am going to run it striaght back and out right before the passenger rear wheel, like it is now just with two improvements. My dad is poking around through his community for some headers that might fit my truck. Then he is going to ceramic chrome them for me in my ford dark blue i like. That might not be any time soon though.

cool.great pics star!
those are glass packs (cheery bombs) it's like a muffler, but much more open and louder.you can see right through 'em.they make fiberglass swirl inside.they have a very distinctive "blat" when you rev her up and let off her.
their not for eveyone lol,and wont pass inspection in many states.

they do however work perfect behind a cat.
on my 96 150 with a 300/6 i reamed the kitties and put one on.they work very well to give the 6 banger just a nice deep tone(even with no cat).on v8's their loud as hell lol.

cheery bombs? haha are those the ones that make you smile when you drive by? LMAO just messin! I was looking at a cherry bomb extreme or similar. I dont mind the glass pack noise but i would like to see if these resonators at canadian tire will work as well. They are only 19.99 and 3 in in and 3 in out with a four inch diameter the length of it. Think a simple resonator will work?

It will be the same as 3 in. single exhaust, personally I would ether go with duals or 1
4in. If you think you are ever going to turbo it I would go with a 4 in. that way you will allready have the exhaust when you install a turbo. I like the sound of duals on an na motor though. lol

f250 you don't have to ream glass packs we just get them hot and stick a water hose in the exhaust and the fiber glass went away. Thats how us old guys did it anyway and glass packs are legal on diesels in most states in fact straights are legal in most states even cali doesn't mess with our straights on the big trucks. They just outlawed our trucks completely.

well i now may know a way to run true duals. I found a way to make it work by just barely dipping under the trans mount cross member. it will still be higher than anything else under there like oh i dont know, the diffs! hahaha. So maybe after all i will run true duals. Cant wait for this weekend!!! So louder with true duals or milder than what i have, also this will be easier because with the 7.5 foot section of 3.5 in pipe i just found out i can get a ten foot section for the same price from a friend at a diesel shop here in town. woo hoo! Then it will be off to canadian tire for some elbows and another tip. Just dont ever buy the u bolt clamps from canadian tire, they are friggin pricey! Now i need to find someone to let me try out a glass pack in my system to see if it is what i am looking for! hahaha.
