Does anyone have an idea what would cause cyl 1,3,5,7 not to fire. This is a recent issue of an ongoing diagnosis. No DTC Codes. Batteries have just been replaced. Engine will start and idle.
Thanks

sure, sounds like the valve cover gasket, the harness passes through and you need to wiggle the connector to see if it corrects itself.
Make sure you did not leave off any wires at the battery cables.
I have not had the valve cover off yet. I spoke with a Ford diesel tech about the valve cover gasket. He said the gasket does not ground the injectors on the 6.0 like it did on the 7.3. I have tried what you are speaking about but I did not get any changes.
Thanks
Have you tried the injector buzz test? The common link to all four on the same bank is the gasket where the connector passes through. You are speaking to a Ford Diesel Tech.
What are you using to pull the codes? I don't see how you've got one dead bank with no codes. If the wiring is disconnected, it should at least throw a code for the glow plugs. All the other electrical components will have their own codes too. Unless you've got a blocked oil or fuel rail in passenger head, there should be a code.
Thanks F350-6, I would like more information on this thing, I assumed that the phrase ongoing diagnostics meant this problem appeared during the check out, which led me to the connector. I would love to help with this one, throw a little more info out there.
Thanks for everyones input. Here is more info. If everyone goes to another post I made(6.0 New Years hangover you can read the original problem and what has been done). As for the vc gasket question it appears the there are no connectors going through or utilizing them? The injector connectors/glow plugs appear to go through the head. I was using an auto enginuity but am limited to testing until they release a software update next week. This one showed no codes. I borrowed a generic tester from another friend and this did show a P0670(Glow plug system). I have not been able to run an injector buzz test yet but will be able to with the autoenginuity update. I have been using a laser heat gun on each exhaust port as a general indicator. L/B has been running 250-300 degrees at idle. R/B 85-120 degrees at idle. I did run it again this morning and the R/B did go up to about 300 degrees but the L/B was at 450-500 degrees. In general using this test the R/B has been unstable while the L/B has been very consistent for temps. I removed the injector harness this morning and checked every wire from the FICM to Injector connectors. No problems found. Wiring harnesses look good. I am putting the engine back together and will retest again. I was able to borrow a Ford rotunda tester so I will see if this shows any different results. Again please read the my other posting listed above for more info. Sorry for the slow response, I was out working on the truck.
Thanks again
