I tried to install my cheap boost/vacuum gauge from PepBoys and ran into problems - the hard plastic hosing that came with the gauge is only about 2.5 feet long - nowhere near long enough to go from the map line to the gauge in the truck. Also, the plastic hosing is less then 1/8 inch - I can't find a "T" that will fit the map line (1/4" or so inner diameter) and also fit the 1/8" hard plastic vacuum line.
Do I just have to buck up and buy a better quality gauge? Do the better gauges come with long enough line to go from the map line, through the firewall and into the cab?
Thanks for the help.

Yes, I installed Isspro guages with no problem. An even better idea is to remove the Air intake heater (aih) and they sell a fitting to go there that you can hook the guage to. (Note: the early '99 s do not have the AIH) but the later 99's to 2003 do).
I bought my Optix gauge from ITP Diesel a few years ago and it came with an install kit that included the pieces you are looking for. I pulled their site up just now, and they no longer carry the Optix gauges...but they do sell the kit separately. So maybe you can order just the kit and make it work with what you bought, or pick a new model from their site and add the kit.
