My friend at the parts store said the sam thing... "help" might have the bolts.

See post #12 for the bolt specs...the Ford part number...and actual Ford MSRP, which is not that 25 buck each price you were quoted by that dealer.

I used a regular bolt on my '78 at one point in time, but ended up getting the right bolts off a parts truck later - of course it could be a totally different bolt/driveshaft set up.

Really? Tell that to my truck then. I have some regular bolts that I got from Lowes in mine. They've worked fine for the past 5-6 years.

DON'T MESS WITH FORD HARDWARE!!!

Definitely go to a Hardware store or a Fastener Distributor store. I needed the 12 Bolts that fasten the Exhaust Manifolds to the Heads on my 88 BII. Called the Ford Place. $236.00!!! Luckily, i was really nice to the parts lady and she gave me the Size and Exact Lengths (3 different). I called a Fastener Store bout 60 miles away(i live in the sticks) told them what i needed. Guy told me $9.32. Told him i'd be there in bout an hour! Same exact Bolts! I do believe in shopping around especially when somebody starts talking big bucks.

That's what I would believe the bolt should look like... all the parts/hardware stores around here don't stock a bolt like that.. it's nice to have a pict of what it looks like... thanxs!

I did the same thing you are doing when I needed mine. I called up Bronco Graveyard to ask them if they had them, and the guy told me they aren't any fancy, special bolt (like I was under the impression they were). He said that I could just use normal bolts. They don't have to have that 12 point head on them.

There is alot more room on the 70's flanges for the bolt heads. The later 80's stuff you need the smaller 12 point heads.
