Raptor Disaster

All I see for this truck is a disaster waiting to happen on Fords part. Ford just gave the consumer a license to jump this truck with a false sense that it is a real prerunner. With stock ball joints, tie rod ends, steering rack, etc, etc there are going to be a lot of broken parts and bent frames and a lot of arms in the air over this truck. The aftermarket kits use uniballs and heim joints along with an engine cage to prevent frame bending. Below is a picture of the Raptor suspension along with real aftermarket prerunner F150 suspension. You tell me which one is going to hold up better after a jump?

i think your getting a little off track on this one. think about what you just said. you just compared a street legal truck to a full race truck. i dont think you have to worry about breaking parts unless you're doing something completely stupid

So true diesel. They're comparing apples to oranges. The Raptor is a truck not a racing machine. Give me a break. I'm buying a Raptor with the larger engine. In essence, I’m buying an F-150 with some modifications. That's all.

That second truck is not a race truck, it is 100% street legal and still retains the factory interior. And like Evan 99 just said, if he owned a Raptor he would be jumping it. My point exactly. You can build the second truck for around $50K so not much more than the Raptor.

Wouldn't it be nice if Ford thought about putting Zerks on this one? Yeah, right.

The second truck was built to retain the use of the bed. Very easy to tow. Sorry, but its still a truck too.

Zerk fittings are for grease, did you possibly mean to say Dzus fittings for the body panels?

I finally saw one of these big beast trucks the other day pulling a trailer, the rear of the truck was pushed down via the trailer, it was a black one its a cool looking truck but i gotta say the outer of the truck looked like a lot of JCWhitny parts , the Raptor suspension is awesome thats the only cool thing about that truck, thay should of supercharged the 5.4 sence its a SVT truck.

Seriously

Go test drive one before you comment.

I put my money where my mouth is, love my truck.

It's a hoot offroad. There's jumping, then there's jumping. It's no race truck but it'll go offroad faster than any other factory truck ever made, very comfortably.

Raptor disaster. They're selling like hotcakes!

I never said they wouldnt sell, im just saying that I hope the dealer made it clear that jumping a truck isnt covered under the factory warranty. If you break something then its on your dime

Not at all, front suspension is 6K, rear suspension is approx the same and fiberglass, wheels and tires will run you another 6K. So 18K plus the truck is very doable
