I am looking for the Ford PN for the Remote Start Kit. My truck currently does not have it and I would like to add it. I do have the keypad outside and the key fob that is the unlock, lock, and panic. Does anyone have this?
I cant be a whole lot of help but to say that I do have the remote start package with alarm and a few years back when I was having it serviced the tech made a comment to one of the other guys that they don't put them in anymore because of a problem they cause. The tech was a real jerk and very cocky and this comment was after a slew of problems I had at the particular dealership so I did not really even want to hear anymore of his babble. I have since had to have the truck towed to the dealer once for injector failure and just two days ago for the FCIM and I paid the tow company about $60 extra to take it to another dealership on the other side of town and they have had all my other buisness since since that encouter also.
i just had a Python 991 alarm/ starter installed. $400+tax Lifetime warranty and its a 2way 1mile range. I don't know how much the OEM one is put they don't have a lifetime warranty or 2way or 1 mile range or 3 accessories that you can control from the remote. like turn on hi idle, DC/AC converter, and i dont know what els. Python – Security with Remote Start - Python 991
I have a Viper 5901 and I love it. 20 second delay for the glow plugs, 20 minute remote run and valet. Mine has a great range and I have not had any issues. Do some reserach and see what might work best for you!

You're not the first one to say this about Ford Techs when dealing with our Power Strokes. Some don't seem to like working on them, and some just don't want to deal with warranty issues. As my nephew who work(ed) for a Ford dealer until Ford bought back their franchise said "I'm glad I don't have to work on those stupid Power Stroke engines under warranty anymore!"

This is the part #'s for the gold package I put on my 2007, you will need the PATS if your key is the large one with security chip in it. I paid the above price for both. be sure to check with your l/d for your model year. The "factory" alarms are made by Code Alarm, as stated, the aftermarket systems are really nice to. Had mine for 3 years now and no issues at all.
(edit) Your 2006 will use the same part # I listed.
