I will be going up to Ocala, Florida from Central Florida next weekend to a car show and will be in Ocala for about 48 hours where temps will be in the high 30s during the day and low 20s at night-I am running the WHITE bottled Diesel Clean a bit on the strong side now-I put 16oz in each tank of fuel, should I use more over the weekend? I have never plugged in my truck and will have no access to power for it at the motel where we will be staying. Thanks!
You use anti-gel in FL?? I rarely use it here where it gets in the 20s every winter. And I never plug in. Isn't 16oz already too much? More isn't better, just more expensive...
Thanks Izzy!! Yes, from late December until early march I use the White bottled DK-16oz per 38 gallon tank of fuel just to be on the safe side, and I use the silver bottled stuff in the same ammount in the summer.....
I know its no where near as cold here as it is up north and out west right now but I have no real experiance with anything colder that Floridas winters when it comes to diesels and diesel fuels-just don't want to become stranded...
it was ten below here in northern Missouri last night and has only been about ten for the high for a few days i have not put any additive in my truck yet and have not had any problems out of it.
Take a 50ft cord with you just in case. If you stay at a motel that you can park outside your door on the ground floor....(even if you have a second floor room with an outside door, drop it over the railing below to your truck.) Would be good to have the cord just in case. Otherwise, if all is in working order, you won't need it. Just cycle the GPs a couple of times before starting it up.
You'll be good with what you have aleady done. Being in Florida you have straight untreated #2 most likely but the gel point should be a good 10-15 degrees lower than your forcasted temps.
Now, up here is a different story! LOL
Good recommendation by BillyBob69 though.....(reps to you)
Yes, reps to Billybob!! AND to everyone else for their imput!! I feel much better now! I actually kind of feel silly now with all you guys in ALOT colder areas and me here in FL worrying about temps in the 20s

Nope, just shows you are being prepared for the situation at hand. Better to ask and find out now before you are on the road and have problems, have a good trip - I miss camping in the Ocala National Forest.......
