Installed a christmas gift

Just got it done yesterday. Energy Suspension bushings for the leaf springs. It took 3 times of ordering to get the right ones(4.2113G) from the 'Zone(less than a mile away). My old bushings were worn thru to almost nothing with no side to side control. It was pretty sloppy. The metal sleeve that holds the old rubber in has to come out. That was the bad part. I used an old 13/16 socket(fits on top of the sleeve) and beat em out with a 3lb hammer. I hydraulic press would really be a great tool here! The worst was the ones in the shackles. They didnt budge. I actually took a sawzall to the inside, and cut 3 slots in the sleeve, and they popped out easy. I noticed right away that it drove better. Less squeaky, and drove straighter on bumpy roads. I highly approve of this mod!

Dang, I bet those have never been replaced in my '70. Something to think about.

Mine were originals too. There were 2 (of the 6) that were reasonably good still.
