Gave the ol 300 a 600 mile workout.
Moved out of CA, to WA.
The 67 was great, except really bogged down on hills(as expected). The trailer had a good 3k pounds of tools and supplies. The truck had 4 bikes, hyd press, and an engine hoist. The mpg was pretty much 10, unless I was going 50 or less, then I could swing 11.5. It was hard to keep the rpm up on the hills because of the 2.75 butt gears/4 speed combo. Like I tell people that judge it by its looks, "under neath all those colors is a fairly new truck. Every bearing/every wear item has been replaced, and it can stop as good as a mid 80s Corvette."

I know I tell people that a lot about my Bronco. Sure, it isn't pretty on the outside, but everything on the inside is newer than most other cars on the road, and it handles like it.
I feel your pain though with the tall gears. With 32" tires and a 3.00 rear, those hills are where it starts to show. Other than that, I love it.
