It's a commercial grade mower it's gonna be expensive. The ZTR I was looking at was 5800$ and the stander was 5200$ a new larger ZTR can be up closer to 10,000$ or so.
Also that's first off the line stuff. I'm quite sure that ExMark would've fixed that issue within the past 4 years since those complaints were made.
Also I don't know the size of your yard but if you're gonna bother to go with a 26 instead of a 21 why not just upgrade to a Metro 32 instead of a 26?
Most commercial guys I know buy cheap throw-away 21s and won't get a commercial mower until 32" or more. Just doesn't make sense from a cost standpoint. On the little mowers there's only so much they can do to improve them. You can't put hydros on a 21 or 26 inch mower.
It'd also be a cold day in hell before I paid almost 2 grand for a dinky mower like that. I could buy a nice used 48" hydro walk behind for that kinda money.
Long story short I'm sure they've worked out the issues with them by now. Commercial mowers are expensive but I wouldn't pay 2 grand for a mower under 32" nor would I have a use for a mower under 32"
I use a 48" belt drive here at home but I really wish I had a 52" Turf Tracer hp but I don't have any mowing accounts so I can't justify spending money on a mower.
I was going to go through Giant Oak Power Equipment as they carry Wright, Exmark, and Stihl as well I believe.
Pete, all the downspouts on the house are crushed mid way up.
I figure it was a lawn care service backing / swinging into them due to the size and shape of the yard.
I couldn't get a 36" between the protruding rocks, I think the big movers just went over the tops of them.
Ya, I can't see spending that much on a 'push' mower either, so I've been looking at used ones on the net, but shipping would be a killer considering they are about 160# (iirc).
A welded 'commercial' looking one would never fly with wifee.
If I go with a 21" I likely would get a rechargeable one, I likely have less than a 1/4 acre of lawn. The 26" just made the trip around the yard that much faster.
Eh maybe I'll just have my neighbor's lawn care service do mine, maybe I'll get a break on the price since they are alreadyt next door. I suppose I could buy a lot of mowing for the price of that Metro 26.
