Tranny Swap
Got a ? for all you guys, what Trans can I swap into my 93 F-150 2wd 5.0 AOD..... something with a better gear ratio to work with my 3.55 differential.... Maybe goin to a 4.10 diff would be better, but maybe a C-4 or C-6 but not sure what is entailed in the swap.

lol what y would u want to lose overdrive... especially going to a 4.10
the only way u can get better gear ratio is to swap in a zf... then u will be going from a .77 overdrive gear to a .76
the C4 and C6 have a final ratio of 1.00
but if u want a C6 ill swap u mine for the AOD i been looking for one i can rebuild and put inplace of mine... i want the overdrive

Yea I wasn't looking at doing both the gear swap and trans swap but one or the other. Atm when my truck goes into OD it bucks and shudders if ya give it a little gas (not enough to downshift) I run better in D all the time. Unless im on the highway doing 85, but still then I get a little buck and shudder, Im just trying to figure out the best way to go all around... I am planning on dropping an HO cam or one of the *303 cams, not sure, I just want a Smooth ride with tow ability... I know Ill never get decent MPG but oh well its a truck

Ok one more ? is yours a short or long bed, ext cab or reg cab.... Dunno what I would have to do for the driveshaft, also would everything in my truck still work right when I disconnect the electrical connection on the trans?

Well if we did do a swap, we would both need a driveshaft... oh well..... we got time, Im looking to do this early summer, last spring
