Could be but I would not go buy one. Maybe if you had a spare worth a try. If you can get it scanned that would be best. I would write down any codes you are getting and then clear to see which ones come back after some cranking. You will probably get some bogus codes from dieing and unplugging the icp.

Havent checked the GPR but my wait to start light still comes on. Plus i dont think it would have caused it the idle to fluctuate and then die. However i could be wrong if somehow it shorted the GPR

Just as a get-by, you can use the AIH relay as a temp replacement for the GPR... might let you verify whether or not the GPR is an issue. Just swap the wires over from one to the other.

Sounds like a classic fuel problem to me. Are you getting any codes?? I would invest in some kind of fuel pressure gauge as well.

My observation here is an operating system problem, not a starting system. "Truck starts fine", "suddenly idle fluctuates", "rpms drop to 150-200", "it dies"... I'm inclined to believe it is; UVCH's, fuel pump, sticking IPR, or possibly even the CPS... in that order. What ever it was, it wasn't like a blown fuse or sudden complete failure evidenced by the gradual (albeit, sudden) loss of RPM's.

Ohm out your valve cover connectors and lets see what your readings are.

Ok guys The Green Machine is back up and running. I just got her started back up. The problem was in fact an oil issue. They just won't run without it!!!! There were 2 leaks that caused this problem one is small and i have known about, the other i thought i had cured by switching oil filter brands. A couple time in the past i have noticed an oil leak on the ground directly under the filter. Reached up and found it to be slightly loose, tightened it up no problems, well this time while i was trying to figure out the problem i crawled under it and found oil all over the under carriage of the truck. Reached up and turned the filter and turned it one full turn by hand. Long story short, I flubbed up and was NOT thorough when i stated "the oil level is right where it needs to be". Thanks again guys for all your help. Now let the flaming begin. I'm sure you TN boys are gonna eat me up over this one!!!!!

No problem man. I am just glad you are feeling better and its up and running again. I figured with the holidays and the 20* weather it could wait considering it was at home and i had a back up vehicle.

Let me be the first to congradulate you on a job well flubbed up my over weight friend.I'm sure you you know that all of us know by now, even before you posted this up, I had been doing pretty good about keeping it to myself for a little while, I made it a whole 5 minutes this time, but that was when I went to the bathroom and then called JD. I just pride myself in knowing that even on a bad day my little finger has more mechanical ability than you.

Glad you're on the road again brother
