Gold rings make nice conductors. The ring had to be cut off and he almost lost that finger. We laugh about it now but it was pretty scary at the time.

2 years ago, my neighbor was demonstrating that exact technique. I think he even said..."Hold your hand over the end of the wrench in case you touch the ground...." Then there was a huge "ZAP!POP!" sound.
