EBPV question

hey guys, just getting ready to install my 3.5" to 4" down pipe. I was just looking at the instructions and it shows you how to uninstall the EBPV. Just wondering if that would be aq good idea and what benifits it would have? thank you

I guess it depends on your preferences and if it gets cold where you live. Is the kit designed for the EBPV delete?

As best I know, the sole purpose for the EBPV is to kind of smother the exhaust outflow at idle in cold temperatures. This allegedly allows the engine to warm up faster. Its effectiveness is debatable.
I don't know what part of the country you are from so I couldn't guess its usefulness to your application. Mine has been deactivated going on the second winter now. I didn't notice any change in warm up time last winter other than a faster warm up if I had the block heater plugged in to the timer overnight. That, IMO, is the single most effective way to decrease your warm-up time.
So, my suggestion to you, since you are interested in increasing your overall exhaust flow, which is among the most cost effective mods the average person can afford/do himself, is to just take the darn thing out of there and be done with it. It is just a large butterfly valve and even when it is parallel to the exhaust flow (open) it still creates some degree of drag on the outgoing gasses.
Whether or not it makes a noticeable difference, I couldn't tell you. But it is pretty hard to argue even "minor restriction" versus "zero restriction".

This is just my $.02 worth. I am sure others will chip in with their opinions. If I were you, I wouldn't trust me completely....I'd wait to see if there is some kind of consensus.

Good luck! (and welcome to the forum, BTW!!! You'll get tons of helpful info sprinkled with a few pounds of useless bulls***. You kind of have to filter it yourself.)
