I think part of the whole problem is rooted in the idiocy of the idea that, supposedly, one has the right to not be offended. Nowhere that I am familiar with has this written. Perhaps I missed something?

This whole episode is another brick in my own determination not to fly commercially. As much at issue here, is the whole cattle-car seating arrangement. Someone could cut me in half vertically with a band saw and the resulting pieces would STILL be too wide to fit in the seats in most commercial aircraft. Even domestic first class is a tight fit.

ps... would go high speed rail in a heartbeat.

True. Very true. But a couple of things. First, the failure of passenger rail is in large part a result of the rise of passenger air (as I think you already stated), but look what's happened to air? Also, there's the means to make rail much faster than it was during the 'failure'.....and there's probably a lot of folks who would utilize a NY to LA high speed rail hop in comfort, and in probably under 18 hrs (depending on stops) vs (thnx Scott) being herded aboard the flying cattle cars (), and if there are several layovers, spending almost as much time in the air (5 hr trip with NO layovers) and in airports as the rail trip. The high speed rails would be half the speed of passenger jets.......

It would have to be, for me, privately-driven BASED ON actual demand. Lots of folks are just getting sick of air travel.

Sometimes things DO come full circle. Who knows?

Fact is, you are more likely to be harmed by an African American than by a Muslim. So if you want to search every Muslim that wants to board a plane, then it makes just as much sense to search every black male who enters the subway. And you should probably pay extra close attention to anyone who speaks Spanish, since they are probably in your country illegally, stealing opportunities from honest Americans.

Of course I don't support such measures. I believe in individual liberty, and states' rights. But I'm curious to know why there are taboos against criticizing certain groups while others are fair game. Why it's OK for Mexicans to celebrate their culture, but when White people want to get together they're branded a hate group. Or why you would scapegoat all Muslims for a terrorist attack allegedly perpetrated by Muslims, but it is politically incorrect to profile blacks despite the fact that they create a disproportionate amount of crime.

Ask yourself these questions, examine all the double standards and politically correct bs that has permeated our way of life, and I think you will start to understand why people are standing in line being told to take their shoes off or choked to death by Walmart security guards.
You supported nothing, you simply made statements with no supporting links or text.

I'm not going to engage you any further in this particular subject as we're dancing all around some very racist comments / issues and I'm not OK with or comfortable with that.

I understand what your saying and don't necessarily disagree with you.

I know you're not comfortable with it. That's why it's OK for Mexicans to march in the street under a foreign flag. And its OK for Black people to create a separate culture for themselves. But when White Christians want something for themselves, it's not OK. Because it makes you uncomfortable.

Continuing on the conversation....

I was chatting with a friend about airport security.. He happens to be a BP agent. He was telling me how he can carry on a flight and there's very minimal security. He see's this as a major flaw.... the next disgruntled fed employee could easily go on a rampage in the air
