After wondering why my steering felt so loose i found under closer inspection that the rubber joint where the pitman arm is connected to the drag link is busted, and it can be rocked back and forth with my hand, i just need to know what this joint is called so i can order another, is there anything else i will need?? you can see in the pic the circled part i am talking about, thanks
ok, so a new drag link should fix that then, do you know if its safe to drive with it busted for the mean time? (prob not, but i have to lol)
but as for the antifreeze i was taking of the radiator cap to release pressure so i could put a new clamp on a leaking line, only i thought i could let the pressure out slowly by slowly removing the cap, but no, as soon as i start to turn it, BOOM, it was like a radiator volcano and it shot antifreeze up and showered the engine bay, not to mention myself lol, i def learned a lesson to give the truck enough time to cool down next time lol
If you can only roll it it's not dangerous. If you get any in and out play it's dangerous and needs replaced. The boot definately is torn or blown out and needs replaced. Usually over-lubing the joint is what causes the boot or seal to blow out.
