i got cab lights for christmas. now im not sure if i wanto drill through my roof to put them on. BUT, if i do put holes in it, what have you guys done with the wiring to kind of "hide" it?
I just did mine a few months back, I took the headliner down and tied all the lights together, and ran the wire down the A pillar, and tied it into the head light switch. You will want to go into the parking light side of the switch which is a brown wire.
I placed my lights 13 inches apart (center to center) and 4 inches back from the windshield rubber. It's easy, and I think the dentsides look great with cab lights.
This also was a good time to polish up the chrome headliner trim, which was turning a dull fuzzy green.
Thanks bro, it was a barn find in Ohio, 80,000 original miles, rebuilt the motor, It set for 20 to 22 years with out running. Runs like a top now. Keep it in 50 degree garage, and drive it on nice days only.

that is like my truck I added my cab lights as well mine was a "kinda" barn find..........it had 82K on it I have a 79 tho with the 76 grille swapped out.........I love the your truck wish mine was in as good shape!!!
Thanks, I see your truck has the new style cab lights, mine were the style up to 1976, then they switched to your style. I kinda like the older style better.
On a side note, why does your registration have that red sticker with the 02 in it. I was under the impression, that number was the age of the registered owner? But I see that is always not the case.
My truck is a 77, but spent its life from 78 until 2007 in Curtis Ohio on a farm. The last records show in June of 1982 it had 71,000 on it. So it wasn't driven a whole lot after that. The owner kept it in a barn when he was not driving it, so it kept it in pretty decent shape. However, there was a TON of pigon crap on it, and I wrote the paint job off, but after washing it five times, it cleaned up. I waxed a spot as a joke and was amazed at the shine.
I went over it top to bottom, and back to the top. Now its just adding cab lights, ash tray, glove box lights, floor board lights, rear slider, etc, etc,... you know the tinkering never stops!!
Now I am trying to get better than 13.3 MPG since I rebuilt the 300 I6.

The red 02 denotes the county of registration........at least in Ohio thats what it is
in oklahoma we have two stickers, for the month and year the registration expires...
