Hey guys, I am thinking about doing a Cat delete on my stock truck to improve MPG and ECTs and will eventually do an EGR delete, custom tune, and ARP studs. I do not want to spend the money right now on all of those (wife might have a cow because we have gone to a single income due to the birth of our first child). If I do the Cat delete only, will the truck throw any codes/ or that obnoxious check engine light come on without getting a custom tune? Thanks for your help.

Stock 2005 F-350 6.0 PSD-both cat and muffler deleted with no codes or check engine light! Sounds much better also!
the cat delete works perfect. the muffler delete requires a little modification, mine wouldn't reach perfectly so i had to use a little pipe from the muffler and tack a few welds on it to keep it together with the clamp. Easy stuff and very worth it. Most diesel sites sell both.
I just had an exhaust shop cut me a piece of pipe from stainless and and fit they put it in for me. They fabbed the joints so the piece just bolted in. Keep the old cat just in case.
I will definitely be keeping my old Cat. Never know when you are going to have to put it back on! The link that I posted stated "For installation in a stock exhaust system to delete the catalytic converter."
