Seat Belts

I am sure this question has been asked several times but I have had no luck with the search option. I have a 52 F1 and I am ready to put seat belts in. I am going with the 3 points belts and am looking for pictures of installing the shoulder harness bracket on the back of the cab between the door post and back window.

Thanks

I found this thread and it has a discussion of seat belts - but I didn't see any actual installation info.

This vendor has some shoulder belt parts and probably can help you out with technical info on how they intended the shoulder belt to be attached to the cab.

Someone else may be able to post some photos or install instructions.

I rolled a piece of metal to the contour of the cab, welded a nut on it and welded it in place.

The belts are comfortable when they are buckled.

I got mine from MidFifty however, you can get the same results doing what Larry did and pocket the difference.

Keep in mind that whatever you use for an anchor, if you ever needed to use it, there could be several thousand pounds of force pulling against it, depending on the impact and g-forces x body weight. Use a heavy gauge steel and weld it in place very well.

I don't think you can overdo the strength of your installation. Heven forbid we never find out if ours are strong enough. I looked at the install kit from Julianos where I bought my belts and mine appears to be as srtong as the installed kit they have. Hope we never know.

I once read that OEM belt anchor positions have to be designed to hold the weight of the vehicle. OTOH, I'd say that's definitely better than not having any shoulder belt.
