you seem to know alot about this, i'm going to the junkyard tomorrow to possibly pick up a used starter, they have both mitsubishi and delco starters for my truck, do you have any preference?
i have personally never seen a delco starter in one. the local parts stores only seem to carry mitsubishi ones also. if its a pick n pull youre going to, grab one of each, but only pay for one of course
and trust me im just as clueless as the next guy, just worked on a few old trucks myself

can't this weekend. Got to get new ball joints on the stupid duty, put the clutches in the rear diff that I've had since last year, and get new tires. Stop by the house and pick up that midplate and oil filter re-locator for Kris. I'll put it back out in the same spot for you.
after gettin stuck in the snow 4 times today my trucks got a few extra dents too

keep em greased now...especially if you play in alot of water/snow/mud...mo greasa mo betta
hey guys so i splurged and picked up a new starter from autozone, 140 bucks but the lifetime warranty sealed the deal, so after a big fight with the inner fenderwell that ended with a sawzall, i was able to drop the old starter and put the new one in, the third bolt was a major pita as you cant do much when your stuck with 6 inches between the frame and engine block, but i still cant believe i did it one day! man tie rods one day, starter today, i'm feelin like an engine rebuild tomorrow lol
guys maybe you can help, I'm really stumped on what atf to use, some people tell me mercon and some say type f, i know its supposed to say on the dipstick but mine is all rusted so you cant read it, please help???
