I sent my head with new stainless steel valves. Should i go for 3 angle valve job or the regular 2 ? big difference ?
My block and heads were mill just for clean up. If i used adjustable roller rockers did i'm gone be ok with stock lenght pushrod and the rockers will compensate for the mill or i have to used shims underneath ?
This is a 400 with australian head. This is my first rebuilt and don't understand all the valvetrain tech. Help please !
In theory, the amount of material removed to install guideplates will put you back in the range for stock length pushrods. Milling the block and heads already guarantees that the geometry has already changed. And you're changing rockers, just a guess, but different heads than original and different cam?
The general rule is anytime you change anything in the valvetrain you should check the geometry with an adjustable pushrod. I'll go one better- I think it ought to be checked even if you DON'T change anything.
Too much to go into here, especially since you didn't ask, but be forewarned about a common misconception on checking valetrain geometry, you are not looking for a pattern that is centered on the valvestem, as you will probably find in many instructions on this- but the smallest wear pattern near the center.
