What should i use to upgrade my 300s valvetrain for performance? i plan for 600HP yes that sounds outrageous but oh well it will work. Which rockers, springs, valves etc. should i use?
thats what most people think...but i let yall know when it all works without anything custom other than porting and polishing and other stuff like that

What are you planning on putting this 600 hp 300 into? Im guessing your 77 F100 from your username? Im not doubting you one bit that you can do it hey anything is possible. Are you planning on turbo charging this? If its normally aspirated is it even going to be streetable? Seems like the only thing a 600 hp 300 could be even good for would be 1/4 passes. I know you asked about the cylinder head, thats alot of air to be moving through a even highly ported stock head. Let us know what you plan on using for the entire build.
For 600hp i'm assuming you're revving it up pretty high, so you want:
a good set of hardened pushrods
high pressure springs
roller rockers would be a good idea
the pushrods are 10+" on this beast so you want to make sure they don't flop over on you. high pressure springs will help prevent valve float, look to the cam specs for the required spring pressure.
Roller rockers reduce the stress in the valve train, which is good for upper rpm, and as long as you get a quality set they will reduce flex and possible damage.
Yes, I do plan on using this in my 77 F100. Good thing it has the 9" rear axle. Plans include a Clifford dual quad intake, camshaft, blueprinted cylinder head, bore it for .060 or .040 pistons(custom made for chevy rods), offset grind crank Clifford Header, upgrade the entire ignition system and plugs, port and polish of course, maybe a turbo or nitrous or both, and of course the rest of the valve train. I guess i haveta swap the 3 on the tree for a 4 on the floor
you are going to need some mighty fine headwork to compliment the longer stroke and big intake.
Even at mid-range rpm, a smoothed out stock head will probably wease out pretty bad.
Luckily, from what i hear, the 300 head has plenty of material to hog out, so as long as you can fit some big valves in there and get manifolds to match, you are all set.
at least some people believe its possible...others jus tthrow the idea out the window just by hearing it and say puta 460 in it...i will if i blow up the 6
