Well, most of the rock is out of the yard now... the snow blower did a good job of redistributing the wealth of rock.... time to go get the blade and tractor and level out things so I can put more rock down... Plus I need to level up the trench where we ran the rural water.
Neither is plywood!
This is what it looks like after it sucked it up, I had to cut it a bit to get it out:

this is where it came from:
<a href="http://s124.photobucket.com/albums/p8/fellro/winter%2009-10/?action=view¤t=004.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p8/fellro/winter%2009-10/004.jpg" border="0" alt="where the plywood was before the snow blower ate it..."></a>
all that rock around the chunks is what I cleaned up... Heck, it just wedged the plywood behind the feeder auger. I didn't know I had even sucked it up until I realized it wasn't putting much snow through and was pushing it, so I stopped and checked and found the plywood wedged in the back, blocking off the blower wheel. It has spit out car blower fan motors before... oops.
it didn't even hiccup.... It has shear bolts, I have broken them a few times by getting too close to solid things, but they didn't give on the plywood. The chute is big enough I can launch a basket ball through it easily. Haven't tried that yet...
Probably come out in shreds!! I bought a bunch of extra shear bolts for mine. Not as big as yours, but the ice chunks that the plows push in my driveway have a tendency to break those shear bolts. Got tired of running out, so I bought a couple dozen of them.
Mine tend to vibrate loose, I have more just come out than actually shear, so I have a bag I keep on the tractor... I don't get
much for ice chunks out here. Seems I tend to beat the plow to it as well. I was doing their job sometimes. I threw the snow from the west side across into the east ditch so it wouldn't pile up so high and drift in so much... the drift would be about as high as the opening on my blower...
Same here. I fought hydraulic problems on the tractor more than anything. Doesn't seem to want to flow much with ice crystals in it... I will have that taken care of by next winter hopefully. The plan is to change out all the oil. It sure cuts down the time to clear out, used to be several hours minimum, now I can get it done in just a couple. I also do the county 911 tower entrance and the substation while I am at it...
