I'm sure knowing the way David 85 does things that he researched it thoroughly, but does anybody actually know anybody that runs one.

i dont know them personally, just have herd they all have good things to say about them, the only thing that turns me away is them only taching 3000 rpm, but i been trying to see if he could build a special pump that would turn way over 4000

You have to go to oilburners.net to find them but they are being run, and by most accounts run like something I can't say on this forum.

i have used 5 gallons of hot water poured onto the top of the heads to start mine when the block heater was turned off and the engine was ice cold
it doesnt require as much heat as you think to start a cold diesel

With some of the temps we have seen in the last week, 5 gallons of hot water would mean a rather large chunk of ice on top of the engine here.

wouldnt that be bad on cast iron any way?
